This is such a fantastic thing for you to do. As many other commenters have shared, having someone in your family fade right in front of you is heartbreaking. I remember my grandfather sobbing on his bed from the devastation of seeing his beloved wife disappear while her physical body endured. That was 15 years ago and it's so great to see this and other organizations making a push for education and support! God bless you, Becky Jane!

Thank you so much for your service. I have 2 family members that are struggling with this, and it is good to know they have advocates who share the information and is willing to help!

Oh Becky where were you 28 years ago when both my Grandpa and Grandma had Alzheimers; at the same time. That was such a struggle on our family; I wish we would have had a service mission for the Alzheimers association back then!

I can't wait to read more of these articles, as this is a point of great concern for my family as my mother is slowly showing signs of possible beginning stages.

My grandmother had Alzheimer's and died of it. We brought her here, and it was one of the saddest experiences of my life. We ARE our memories...you are doing a wonderful thing, the caregivers are lost and don't really have the time to take care of themselves. A caregiver can also lose the ability to think objectively after awhile.

This is so wonderful that you are getting involved in this. As an RN working with the elderly population I have cared for many patients with Alzheimer's. It is a heart breaking situation and the family/caregivers need a lot of support. So glad to hear you are providing it.

What an importand job that is,... well one of your jobs. I love the fact that you are helping the caregivers. They have it really rough taking care of those with Alzheimers and also other ilnesses.
Go Becky Go!
The Bible says that we are to take care of the widows and orphans, but so many forget. Thank you for remembering those who so many choose to ignore.
God bless.
What a fantastic cause to be a part of. Thank you for volunteering when you already do so much. And thank you for a fantastic interview. While I am not familiar with Alzheimers like some I was informed that my Grandfather may be headed there so what a time to start to dabble.
How awesome. Our Grandpa had Alzheimer’s, he passed away in 2004… we too try to do whatever we can to prevent and help others. What a Blessing! Becky Jane, Thank you for all that you do!!
How special! Alzheimers is a horrible, horrible disease. Watching it take away who my amazing grandmother was was truly heart wrenching. Thank you so much for helping those who really need the support..in so many areas.
What a great cause. Becky you are truly a blessing and a role model. Keep up the amazing work. If only more could be as selfless as you.
This is a great, highly needed service to offer to caregivers. I help take care of my 93 yr mother who has Alzheimers and it is no picnic. My brother and sis-in-law and I take turns caring for her. Even though she is in a small group home (she cannot walk) we spend time with her everyday to make sure she is OK and she is well cared for and relate to her as much as she is able. It has been very difficult even with that much relief. It would be great to go to a support group to see how others feel about what they are doing in similar circumstances.
I think this is a great thing you are doing. My grandpa has Alzheimer’s and my mom takes care of him and it is rough on her because she feels like she has no help. It is nice when there are options and help for those who are caregivers of an Alzheimer’s patient helping them taking care of themselves while they take care of their loved ones. Many blessings to you.
What wonderful information! And what amazing work you are doing Becky! I appreciate all the efforts you are making that benefit so many.
Hi Becky Jane,
Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for what you're going to do toward helping Alzheimer patient caregivers. If you are a son or daughter of the patient, caregiving is accompanied by more heart pain than anyone who hasn't dealt with it can imagine. I watched my mom disappear, even though she lived...

...The ministry you're going into is a huge one and much needed. As the child of an Alzheimer patient, I thank you for the job you're taking on. I'm not Mormon but I am a Christ follower, and if you would like to ask any questions from someone who has lost a parent to this horrible disease, just ask away.

In Christ,
Sandy
